OPEN HOUSE

AFRL and DAGSI will sponsor an Open House on October 14, 2005 at the Holiday Inn, 2800 Presidential Drive (off Col. Glenn Highway across from Wright State University).

The objective of the open house is to provide a forum for the AFRL project sponsors and other personnel to meet with interested Ohio faculty and students.  Each Technical Directorate will have a display and several representatives who can discuss research focus areas at AFRL.

The core hours for the Open House are 11-2 in the Challenger/Discovery Room.  Registration will begin at 8:00 am , and displays will be set up prior to 11 am .  Hors d’oeuvres will be available.

TOUR UPDATE

Due to logistical problems, AFRL has had to rearrange and reorganize the tour schedule. Instead of individual directorate tours, there will be one morning and one afternoon tour. Both tours will cover three directorates: Materials and Manufacturing (ML); Sensors (SN); and Power and Propulsion (PR). Unfortunately, the Human Effectiveness (HE) and Air Vehicles (VA) Directorates are no longer able to participate in tours on October 14. HE has expressed a desire to arrange tours with individuals on another mutually-acceptable day; we will try to make similar arrangements with VA.

The morning tour will leave the Holiday Inn at 8:15 AM and return around 11:45 AM. The afternoon tour will leave the Holiday Inn at 12:00 noon and return around 3:15 PM.  We are sorry about any inconvenience this change presents.

For those of you who wish to attend the morning tour, a continental breakfast will be available in the Discovery Room at 7:45 AM.

Any faculty or other invited guests participating in the tours who are not US citizens should provide the following, along with the registration form:  

• Name and citizenship

• Date and place of birth (city and country)

• Passport and visa numbers, I-94 stamp, and expiration date

• Employer and address; identify whether U.S. or foreign owned

Any visitor with a Green Card should have it with him/her the day of the tour.

Pre-registration for the Open House at the Holiday Inn is requested but not required.  Pre-registration for the tours is mandatory.  If you wish to participate in the tours, for WPAFB clearance purposes we must have your registration no later than 5 pm on October 4.
